Our Mission

It provides uninterrupted service to the Guatemalan population 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, guided by its motto: Discipline, Honor, and Selflessness, as enshrined in its Organic Law; assisting those in need with the objective of safeguarding life and protecting property. This is achieved through the prevention and response to emergencies, whether natural or man-made, thereby minimizing the social and economic impact of these disasters.

Our Vision

The Meritorious Volunteer Fire Department of Guatemala is a leader in prevention, emergency response and disaster relief activities in the Republic of Guatemala, based on the ethical professionalism of the women and men who make it up as a professional team capable of assisting in any contingency and integrated with the community in building a safe coexistence and contributing to the improvement of the quality of life.

With discipline, with sacrifice, putting his soul and heart into it, the volunteer firefighter serves; his selflessness is evident, and thus humanity receives the volunteer's heartfelt work, which with courage and true love fights the fire with a chorus.

I believe in the high dimension of the trilogy; Discipline-Honor-Selflessness, as fundamental norms of my conduct inside and outside the exercise of my profession.

I believe in the oath that obliges me to serve selflessly and in the sacred name of Volunteer Firefighter that I bear.

I believe in fulfilling my duty as the supreme good of my actions, framed within the beautiful trilogy that is my shield, my north and my torch.

I believe in the simplicity of my work and in the greatness of the spiritual satisfaction it brings me.

I believe in the capacity to love with nobility, a primary attribute that emerges in my physical and spiritual dedication in defense of my fellow human beings.

I believe in God as the supreme force that encourages me, when the spiritual peace, physical protection and even the life of those who come to me depend on my actions.

I believe in my hands, my reason, and my mind, because by combining them I create a little happiness for those in need.

I believe in the solidarity of my profession. I encourage it and practice it, because it is the foundation of the institution to which I belong and the safeguard of my own life.
